Chandigarh, July 27

Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister OP Yadav today said the project of the establishment of old age homes had been started in all districts.

The construction of the old age home in Rewari is completed and the building will be dedicated to the public soon.

The minister also directed the officials concerned to prepare the final list of applications for state awards of Divyangjans at the earliest.

Yadav was presiding over a meeting of the district social welfare officers to review the state-level schemes.

He said: “The schemes of the department should be implemented properly so that people can avail the benefits on time. There should not be any laxity. Now, the old age pension will automatically start when the eligible person attains the age of 60 years. The elderly will no longer have to visit the offices concerned to apply for the same.”

Yadav directed the officials to monitor the implementation of the schemes from time to time.
