Sirsa, January 27

Congress leader Kumari Selja today said despite prevalent drug menace in Sirsa district, the BJP-JJP government had turned a blind eye to the problem.

Addressing a rally here, Selja said: “The government must find out reasons as to why this problem has taken such an alarming proportion in Sirsa district. Unfortunately, the government is hiding figures related to the drug deaths in Sirsa.”

She had represented the Sirsa Lok Sabha segment twice in 1991 and 1996. Selja said joblessness and government apathy towards issues concerning youth were causing massive damage to society. “During visits to various parts of the state, I came across youth who are feeling dejected with the government apathy. The paper leaks in the recruitment drive and job scams have led to a groundswell of resentment among the youth.”
