The Kaithal police have taken eight suspects on production warrant in an alleged case of robbery at a closed rice mill, where they had allegedly held a security guard hostage at Nauch village on January 19.

The suspects were of Kasun village in Jind district, Happy, a resident of Singhpura village in Jind, Rohit from Gurusar village in Jind, Pritam from Shyam Nagar Jind, and Sagar, a resident of Sarda in Jind district.

Naresh, a resident of Nauch village, was working as a security guard in the mill, and had filed a complaint with the police.

He stated that on January 19, around 10.30 pm, five-six persons scaled a wall, assaulted him, tied his hands and feet and committed robbery at the place in around two hours.

He managed to inform another guard about the incident, who rescued him. A case was later registered at the Sadar police station in this regard.

Sources said all accused had previously been apprehended by the CIA-1 police in another case and were in the district jail.
