A retired government school-teacher has been arrested for raping a 19-year-old girl for nearly five years in a village of the district. A case under Sections 376 and 354 of the IPC, the POCSO Act and the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes Act has been registered against him. TNS

PO nabbed after 7 years

The police nabbed a proclaimed offender, Rashid Khan (25) of the district’s Babupur village, after seven years near Buraka village of Hathin subdivision on Tuesday evening. He was booked in rape case of a minor in 2014. A local court sent him to two-day police custody on Wednesday. TNS

4 nabbed with banned drugs

Chandigarh: The Haryana Police arrested four persons, including a woman, and seized 50,000 banned medicines, which they were carrying in a car in Sirsa district. The accused — Ajay of Khori Kalan village in Mewat and Mukesh, Ravi and Radha, all residents of Rajasthan — have been booked under the NDPS Act. TNS
