Refresher course begins at Haryana Agricultural University

Hisar: As many as 30 professors from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU), Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Hisar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, and Telangana are participating in this three-week refresher course on ‘Statistics and Data Analysis’ being organised by the Directorate of Human Resource Management of the HAU, Hisar. The Registrar of this refresher course, Dr SK Mehta called upon the professors to actively participate in such knowledge and skill-enhancement refresher courses. He said knowledge of statistics and data analysis was very important for all agriculture and other related experts.

Web portal for PhD admission

Hisar: The Vice- Chancellor of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, Prof Baldev Raj Kamboj, said research was useful only when it was utilised in the interest of society and nation. “The quality of research should be maintained at all times. Shortcuts should not be adopted in the matter of research,” he said while addressing the inauguration of the portal of admission process of PhD in various departments of the GJUST. Dean Academic Affairs Prof Devender Kumar said students interested for admission in PhD courses could apply online by visiting the university's website www.gjust.ac.in. The registration fee can be deposited through debit card/ credit card or net banking. The last date of application for admission in PhD courses is August 30, 2022.

Governor visits Law varsity

Sonepat: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya arrived at Rajiv Gandhi Education City to inspect Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University. He interacted with law students and urged them to read books related to patriots who sacrificed their lives for freedom. The Governor released the picture related to Bhagya Bharat Vidhata, Indian Constituent Assembly on 24 January 1950. Governor also inspected Sushma Swaraj administrative block, smart class room in Sarvepalli Dr Radhakrishnan academic block, Vivekananda boys hostel, Ahilya Bai girls hostel, dispensary and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam library.

Four CUH students get jobs

Mahendragarh: Four BTech students at the department of printing and packaging technology at the Central University of Haryana (CUH) have got employment opportunities in reputed companies. Prof Tankeshwar Kumar said these students were Shubham Garg, L Anthony David, B Vishwanath and Yadhu Krishnan. They had been offered jobs by Max Specialty Films Ltd, Punjab and Manohar Filaments Pvt Ltd, Chennai.

Astronomy fest organised

Karnal: A week-long Astronomy fest was organised at Dyal Singh Public School, Sector 7, Karnal. Shalini Narang inaugurated the planetarium show. The “Cosmo quest planetarium show” under its programme “Khagol aapke dwar”, created enormous curiosity among students. Apart from visual presentations on celestial objects, students were also appraised of Ddinosaurs’ stories of extinction.
