President Murmu opens 7th International Gita Seminar in Kurukshetra

President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday opened the seventh International Seminar on World Peace and Harmony Insights from Srimad Bhagavad Gita at Kurukshetra University here.

She reached the Brahma Sarovar here to attend the International Gita Mahotsav 2022.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and state Tourism Minister Kanwar Pal were also in attendance.

Murmu launched several state initiatives including the Nirogi Haryana scheme. The scheme offers free health screening of Haryana’s residents.

Under the first phase of the health scheme, the families having income less than Rs 1.8 lakh (Antyodaya families) will be taken up as beneficiaries while the rest of the population will be covered in the subsequent phases.

The president also launched e-ticketing scheme.

The government decided to replace the existing manual printed ticket system with e-ticketing and national mobility card which will be implemented at six depots in the initial phase including Chandigarh, Karnal, Faridabad, Sonepat, Bhiwani and Sirsa, and by the end of January next year, the project will completely be implemented in the remaining 18 depots too.

Meanwhile, first e-ticket was issued to the President.

She reached NIT Kurukshetra to attend the 18th convocation of the institute.
