Panchkula to get first sports injury rehab centre

To be ready before Khelo India Games in Feb 2022

Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sandeep Singh, on Saturday said that the state’s first sports injury rehabilitation centre is being set up at Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium, Sector 3, Panchkula.

The centre will be ready before Khelo India Games in February 2022. The centre will help the players who get injured during the games to recover quickly. He said this while presiding over a meeting on Saturday at Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium with a delegation of the Gujarat Sports Department.

The delegation of Gujarat is on a visit to Haryana to study the sports infrastructure available to the players in the state as well as training facilities, diet and sports policy.

Sandeep said four new sports injury rehabilitation centres would be opened in the state. He said at present, there werere 533 coaches of various sports in the state and 200 more would be recruited soon.

Apart from this, about 1,000 sports nurseries are being opened across the state to raise the interest in sports among children. — TNS
