Overcrowding in markets may lead to rise in Covid cases

With the number of Covid cases decreasing, shopkeepers are allowed to open their shops on the odd-even basis, but no shopkeeper observes it seriously, resulting in complete chaos on roads. There is heavy traffic and autos and rehriwalas further aggravate the situation. The shopkeepers place their wares up to the middle of the roads and allow rehriwalas to stay put in front of their shops by charging monthly rentals from them. No step has been taken to check the situation and it is feared that the number of cases may rise again. — Ramesh Gupta, Narwana

Beautification of G’gram stretch good move

It is heartening to learn that the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram will begin beautifying 1.3 kilometer stretch linking, Museo Camera Galeria market and Super Mart along with Galleria Boulevard road by the end of June . The move by the authorities is good as Gurugram district is a world class city and needs to be beautified. — Subhash C Taneja, Gurugram

Big push for development in Panchkula

With reference to the news that appeared in the Chandigarh Tribune that the Chief Minister announced the setting up of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authorities on the lines of Gurugram. It is a historic step and a long-pending demand of the city. Panchkula is a part of the tricity, but lags behind Mohali. If implemented, It will boost its development.
