One nabbed with 210 bottles of English liquor in Bhiwani

These were to be smuggled to Gujarat

The Chief Minister’s flying squad has seized the bottles of liquor being smuggled from Bhiwani to Gujarat, which is a dry state.

A resident of Rajasthan has been arrested after the registration of a case.

According to the information, the Chief Minister’s flying team in Rohtak got a tip-off that a Tata Safari vehicle was being loaded with the bottles of English wine at a godown in the Bank Colony locality of Bhiwani town. The vehicle driver tried to flee the spot as the team raided the house.

A police spokesperson said the vehicle driver, Ram Kisan, was nabbed from the spot and 210 bottles of English wine of different brands were seized.

The driver revealed to the police that liquor contractor Sudhir Sharma had planned to smuggle the bottles to Gujarat.

The police booked Ram Kishan and Sudhir Sharma under Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act and started the investigation.
