Obscene photos of rape victim put on social media

Yamunanagar, January 19

A rape accused allegedly made the victim’s obscene photographs go viral on Whatsapp and Facebook after she refused to withdraw the case against him.

On the complaint of the survivor, a case was registered against Vikas of Yamunanagar, his wife and one Jasbir Singh under Section 67-A of the IT Act and Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restrains) and 506 (criminal intimidation) at Farakpur police station on Friday.

According to information, the complainant got a rape case registered against Vikas a few months ago and he had been pressuring her ever since to withdraw the case. He also threatened her of dire consequences if she did not withdraw the case.
