Chandigarh, February 29

State Health, Medical Education and Research Minister Anil Vij has said that he has given instructions that nursing colleges should be set up in all medical colleges in future. He was responding to a question raised on the last day of the Budget session of the Assembly on Wednesday.

He said there was a great demand of nursing professionals in the country and abroad. Approval had been granted to set up six nursing colleges in government hospitals.

Higher Education Minister Mool Chand Sharma said the proposal to open a co-education college at Ghangola village in the Sohna Assembly constituency was under consideration as there was no college within 20-km radius.

Development and Panchayats Minister Devender Singh Babli said development works worth up to Rs 5 crore were being approved on the recommendation of each MLA.
