Rohtak, April 17

In view of the rapid rise in the number of Covid cases in the region, the Rohtak PGIMS authorities have decided to stop elective surgeries at the institute in order to prevent the spread of the infection.

The PGIMS medical superintendent, Dr Pushpa Dahiya, said it had been decided to stop elective surgeries with immediate effect till further orders.

Elective surgeries had remained stalled for months during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic last year.

A decision to curtail the OPD services may also be taken in view of the prevailing situation. The PGIMS Director and the state nodal officer for Covid tested positive recently. — TNS
