'Most wanted' criminal held

A team of the special task force (STF), Bahadurgarh, led by inspector Vivek Malik, nabbed a “most wanted criminal”, Bijendra, alias Punji, of Siwada village (Bhiwani) after getting a tip-off in this regard.

Punji, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his arrest, was wanted in more than 11 cases of heinous crime like murder, loot etc. The Haryana Police had been searching for him in a murder case for the past two years.

“Punji was arrested from Bhiwani district. He, and his accomplices, had committed a murder in connection with a brawl over a plot under the City police station, Bhiwani, in 2020,” said Vivek Malik.
