2 months after DSP's killing, mining mafia attacks police team in Haryana's Nuh

Two months after a DSP was killed, the mining mafia again attacked a joint team of the mining department and police in Nuh district.

Acting on a tip-off, the team had gone to Baded village where it seized three machines.

The miners climed on to the hills and pelted the police with stones, injuring a cop. The police have booked 50 people and identified five of them for the attack.

According to the police, after getting a tip-off, they formed a joint team of police and the mining department and conducted the raid.

Three excavation machines were seized, while the men fled the spot. Soon, the police team was pelted with stones.

A police spokesperson said, "We have registered an FIR naming the five accused; over 40 others are yet to be identified. We are investigating and will soon name the other accused."

Nuh SP Varun Singla visited the spot. He had ordered the raids to nab the accused. He said, "We will not tolerate this. We are working to end illegal mining in the district, which has baffled the mafia and it is resorting to attacks. We will nab them soon."

Sources said raids were on in nearby villages to nab the accused.
