Gurugram, February 3

Amid a controversy in the Congress regarding the Gurugram Lok Sabha seat, a meeting of the party’s Lok Sabha election committee was held here today. Prominent people and workers were called from the nine constituencies falling under the seat.

Former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and leaders of other factions attended the meeting, but Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, angry over the seeking of applications for contesting elections, did not attend the meeting.

The Gurugram Lok Sabha incharge, Dr SL Sharma, claimed that there was no dispute regarding the ticket. Asked why he did not attend the meeting, Captain Yadav said it was necessary for workers to attend the meeting, as only they should tell who must contest the elections. “It is not important whether or not I attend a meeting,” he said.
