Mahendragarh, January 20

All India Congress Committee general secretary and former Union minister Kumari Selja has claimed that the BJP’s Central and state governments have forced people in queues, were handing over the nation’s property to two persons and were also promoting inflation and unemployment.

She was addressing people gathered at various places in the district to accord a warm welcome to the Congress Jan Sandesh Yatra that reached here today. Former minister Kiran Choudhary, former MP Shruti Choudhary, Naraingarh MLA Shaili Choudhary, Sadhaura MLA Renu Bala and Kalka MLA Pradeep Choudhary, among others, were present on the occasion.

“Unemployment is becoming a serious problem. The dream of the youth to join the Army and serve the country has also been shattered. The BJP has proved to be ‘Bharatiya Jumla Party’ . Inflation, unemployment and slogans are its contributions,” Selja said, adding that the yatra was the need of the hour as the government was not paying heed to the genuine problems of people.

Talking about Rahul Gandhi, she claimed that he was the only leader to embrace the Dalits, farmers, labourers and backward classes. “The Congress is the only party which takes the ordinary worker to the top. An example of this is party national president Mallikarjun Kharge, who has risen from block president to the highest chair of the party,” she said.

Kiran Choudhary said the BJP government and its leaders had been making false promises to people. “Don’t get trapped in their false promises and gimmicks this time. Selja is a national leader and she does what she speaks, hence take her forward,” she said. “Considering the work of the Bansi Lal family in this area, it is the duty of the people of the constituency to support Shruti,” she appealed.

The yatra started from Rai Milkpur village and was well received at Nangal Chaudhary, Nangal Dargu, Jaurashi, Kila Road, Nangal Sirohi, Majra Chungi, Kanina Mod and Ateli town.
