Kurukshetra University to work with Japanese embassy

Kurukshetra: A team of senior experts consisting of Prof Ashok Chawla, Adviser, Japan Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Joyanto Rabha, administrator and Ken Sobajima, programme coordinator from Japan International Cooperating Agency (JICA), visited Kurukshetra University on Monday to interact with Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva and senior academicians of the KU. Shinjo Miyamoto, Minister of Economic and Development, Japan Embassy, joined the meeting online. "The KU has taken an initiative to start two Japanese language courses from the session 2021 which are running successfully. The Japanese experts' team is in the KU to advise the university on the curriculum development, to further expand Japanese language programmes and to provide a Japanese national as an expert language teacher in future," said Prof Som Nath. He said the KU was introducing Japanese, German and French Language programmes in the Directorate of Distance Education in the online mode from the session 2022 as per the New Education Policy 2020.

Delhi Public School boy shines

Ambala: Arshil Saini, a student of Class VIII of Delhi Public School, Ambala. has come out with flying colours in an online contest, Global Kids Achievers Awards 2021 and is selected in the top 150 for the superlative and exceptional achievement in the field of academics around the globe. He has set a new record as the "Youngest to clear IT International Certification Exams" of "Microsoft and Comptia" in India. The Principal of the school, Amita Dhaka, congratulated him and his parents on his accomplishment.

School first in painting contest

Pehowa: Students of Tagore Bal Niketan Senior Secondary School, Pehowa, participated in the painting and rangoli competition organised on the Saraswati bank of Pehowa on the occasion of International Gita Mahotsav-2021 on Monday. School coordinator Bindu Sharma said by participating in such competitions, morale of the children get a boost and their talent develops. He also motivated all students to participate enthusiastically in such competitions. The team secured first position in the painting competition. The painting team consisted of Krish, Paras, Harshpreet, Harpreet Kaur, Palak, Akshara, Chirag, Prabhdeep, Jashanpreet and Anshpreet.

Improving employability skills

Faridabad: The add on courses and innovation cell of the DAV Institute of Management, NH 3, NIT, Faridabad, organised a programme on "Innovation does not start with technology, but with the people who create it -- Unleash your potential to Innovate" here recently. Dr Resham M, HoD, MBA Department, NIET, Greater Noida, who was the main speaker focused on improving the communication and employability skills of students. Ritu Gandhi Arora, vice-principal, welcomed the trainer and said the DAV Institute of Management always believed in giving the best to the students and therefore such programmes were a regular feature of the institute.

Guest lecture on tax deductions

Faridabad: A guest lecture on "Deductions under Section 80C to 80U" was organised by the department of commerce of Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh, recently. Principal Dr Krishan Kant Gupta, the resource person , Mohan (CFO of One Tick Technologies Pvt) briefed on various types of deductions related to income tax of individuals and companies. Giving details he said tax deductions not only helped onein reducing an amount from one’s taxable income to save tax, but helped in calculation of the income subject to tax. He highlighted that reduced taxable income helped the people in saving and investing money in other areas. One can claim deduction for the amounts spent on tuition fees, medical expenses, and donations. He shared his experiences with students and answered their queries. About 150 students of BCom final year attended the programme.
