Kurukshetra: The internal quality assurance cell of Markanda National College, Shahabad, Markanda organised a workshop on record keeping and data handling for the faculty, staff and students. Dr Ashok Kumar, principal of the college, welcomed the speaker. The workshop was conducted by Dr VK Jain, associate professor, GMN College, Ambala Cantt. The objective of the workshop was to develop knowledge management culture in organisation. Dr Jain elaborated "why, what, and how" of record-keeping with practical examples and data handling in digital environment. Dr Jawahar Lal conducted the stage and Dr Ajay Kumar Arora proposed the vote of thanks.

Singing contest at Tagore school

Kurukshetra: Music binds souls, heart and emotions. To bring out the singing talent of students, a singing competition was organised by Tagore Global School, Kurukshetra. Participants from all four houses put forth their performance. They presented a variety of songs and made the whole atmosphere melodious. The winners were awarded with certificates.

Motivating students to donate blood

Yamunanagar: To motivate students for the annual blood donation camp on September 6, an orientation programme was organised by Red Ribbon Club of MLN College, Radaur. Dr Vijay Parmar, Senior Medical Officer through audio-visual effects, familiarised the audience with the importance of blood donation. Dr Pallavi emphasised on blood donation as one of the vital social acts in which any healthy adult could participate. Dr Deepak Kaushik, principal of the college said before that a poster making and slogan-writing competition on blood donation was held.

Skill development for employment

Kurukshetra: "New opportunities for employment and self-employment can be created through skill-development. Through self-employment, we can take India to new heights." Satish Kumar, India's expert on economic matters and national co-organiser of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, said this while speaking at a seminar on "Self-reliant Haryana and employment" on Thursday in RK Sadan of Kurukshetra University. The programme was organised under the joint aegis of Kurukshetra University, the Haryana State Council of Higher Education and Swadeshi Swavalamban Trust. Earlier, Satish Kumar inaugurated the centre for training, internship and employment at the KU. He described the indigenous model of the Indian economy as the need of the hour to lift every person above the poverty line. KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said, "We have to work on the ground and make employment-centric education and policies to create a poverty free Haryana. In our policies, it is also necessary for students to know the actual status of employment."

JC Bose university signs MoUs

Faridabad: To provide students opportunities for industrial training and placement, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad today signed MoUs with four companies namely Advanced Silicones Pvt Ltd, Palwal, MV Electrosystems Pvt Ltd, Faridabad, Prime Electronics, Sonipat and Quadrant Cables Pvt Ltd, Mohali. A spokesperson of the university said registrar Dr SK Garg on behalf of JC Bose University and Viwaswat Raj Singh as director and representative of all companies signed the agreement. To facilitate students for internship opportunities, these MoUs will help and create opportunities for students.

Alumni, entrepreneurs ink pact

Faridabad: The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad today signed MoU with Bony Polymers Pvt Ltd, Belz Instruments Pvt Ltd, and AV Automation Gurugram. The organisations have entered the association with the intent of facilitating students with internship opportunities in the industry. These collaborations will provide students with the platform for obtaining practical training and acquire technical skills. To promote student-centric learning, Bony Polymers, Belz instruments and AV automation will also impart technical know-how among students by conducting workshops, seminars, and short-term courses at the University premises.
