Faridabad, February 4

Former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda today promised abolishing all five tolls in Faridabad and providing Metro rail connectivity to Gurugram and Palwal from here if the Congress government returned to power in the state.

Addressing the Jan Akrosh Rally organised by a former MLA, Lalit Nagar, in the Tigaon Assembly segment, here today, Hooda came down heavily on the state government claiming that the development in this industrial hub of the state had remained halted under the rule of the present government. He said while the while the population of the city had risen sharply, no development project had been undertaken by the BJP government in the past nine years. He said the people had been at the receiving end in wake of the anti-people policies and the failure of the government to undertake any project that was aimed at providing relief to the taxpayers.

He said as Faridabad was established by former PM Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru as the first industrial town of the country, the present government had halted its development. He said as not a single brick has been added to the Metro rail network provided by the Congress government, this exposed the web of false promises and claims of the ruling party. Charging the present government of exploiting and restricting the movement of the people by imposing tolls on every road, he said the Congress government would remove all tolls in the district and provide Metro rail connectivity to Palwal and Gurgaon cities .

HPCC chief Udaybhan alleged that the Modi government had taken away 12 crore jobs in the name of demonetisation. Rajya Sabha member Deepender Singh Hooda and several sitting and former MLAs also addressed the rally.
