It’s clear case of ‘terror jihad’: BJP MLA

Sangeet Som, BJP legislator from the Sardhana Assembly segment in Uttar Pradesh, has described the murder of 21-year-old Nikita Tomar as a result of “terror jihad”.

Som, who visited Nikita’s family here on Wednesday, said the incident should not be construed as “love jihad” as there was no love, but hatred between the girl and her assailant.

“Jihadists should either leave the country or face consequences. The Centre will soon introduce a law to curb the occurrence of such incidents,” he told the media.

The BJP leader described Nikita as a brave girl, who, he said, did not bow to “terror jihad” and gave her life.

“Nikita’s family is satisfied with the police investigation. Justice will be done. The case will be tried in a fast-track court and culprits will be sentenced to death within two months,” the legislator said.

He condemned the last week’s violence at a mahapanchayat. “The authorities should check the track record of all accused named in the incident before taking action against them.”
