International seminar at Sirsa college

Sirsa: Chaudhary Devi Lal University VC Prof RB Solanki chaired a one-day national seminar on "Exploring new era of humanities, commerce, science and technology: Issues and challenges" organised by Jan Nayak Ch Devi Lal Memorial PG College here. VC Solanki said every student has unlimited potential and educational institutes play a vital role in channelising energy of youth. He said such seminars play a vital role in providing practical knowledge to students. "The theme of the seminar is very relevant keeping in the view, spectrum of opportunity to be borne through intellectual churning by renowned academicians, scholars and experts in various fields," he said. Jan Nayak Ch Devi Lal Memorial PG College Principal Dr Jai Parkash welcomed the chief guest while Managing Director Dr Shamim Sharma presided over the event and said more than two hundred participants had been registered for the one-day seminar.

41st annual athletics meet

Karnal: A two-day 41st annual athletics meet was held at Pt Chiranji Lal Sharma Government College, Sector 14 here. Arjuna awardee (Kabaddi) Sundar Singh and Haryana Police Academy DSP Madhuban were the chief guest at the opening ceremony. While addressing the athletes, the chief guest advised the students to fix their goal in life and chase it with full zeal and strength. Principal and District Higher Education Officer Dr Rekha Sharma briefed the achievements of students in the field sports. Dr Rekha said the sports-spirit brought social harmony among students. It also made them socially, physically and mentally fit. Ritu Dahiya, an international player (horse riding), was the chief guest for the prize distribution and closing ceremony. She said, "Sports persons can achieve their aim by hard work and devotion."

Annual day celebrations at dav school

Ambala: DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Ambala City celebrated annual day-cum-prize distribution function with great zeal and enthusiasm. Legal advisor Prem Mahendru and college Principal Dr Rajesh Sharma were the chief guest and guest of honour. After the lighting of lamp, the guests were given a Vedic welcome by the Principal. Performances on western and folk dances based on different themes were presented on the event. Principal Sharma presented the annual report of the school and shared how the school was progressing leaps and bounds in all curricular and co-curricular spheres. A total of 80 students were given cash prize amounting to Rs 4 lakh for their performance in Class X CBSE board examination. Nearly 700 students were given mementos and certificates for their achievements in academics, sports and cultural fields.

Three MDU students felicitated

Rohtak: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) felicitated three students of the University, who have been enrolled in the Youth Centre for Skill Development guidance programme for their achievement. MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh and Dean Students' Welfare Prof Raj Kumar felicitated Kanchan, Gurmesh, and Yamini at the function in Tagore auditorium. Notably, Kanchan has been selected in the Indian Air Force (IAF), Gurmesh has been selected in the Haryana Police, and Yamini has qualified NET/ JRF examination. Youth Centre for Skill Development Project Director Col (retd) DS Deswal briefed about the activities and achievements of the YCSD students.

Grandparents’ Day celebrated

Yamunanagar: Students of Swaraj Public School, Damla, celebrated Grandparents’ Day with an aim to honour them. The main attraction of the show "Caarvaan-e-Zindagi" left the spectators spellbound. Students presented seven stages of life through their dance performance. Various games were also organised for the grandparents, in which they shared beautiful moments and relived their childhood with their grandchildren. Students made greeting cards for their grandparents and gifted them as a token of their unconditional love. Chief guest Shashi Bathla addressed the gathering by appreciating the students and blessed them for their successful and bright future.

Management development programme

Ambala: MSME Development Institute, Karnal, in association with Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Sadopur-Ambala, is organising a five-day management development programme on export management and documentation. The inaugural session of the programme was held at the seminar hall of the Department of Management Studies of the university. Noted economist and former Vice-Chancellor Dr MM Goel was the guest of honour at the inaugural session while DK Tyagi, assistant director, MSME, Development Institute, Karnal, was the programme coordinator.
