In respect of other AIIMS in the region, the government said MBBS classes had already commenced at AIIMS Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh (from academic year 2020-21), Jammu (from 2020-21 from a temporary campus) and Bathinda (from 2019-2020).

The construction work is 66 pc complete at AIIMS Bilaspur, 22 pc at AIIMS Jammu; 4.5 pc at AIIMS Kashmir and 86.10 pc at AIIMS Bathinda, where OPD services became functional from December 25, 2019, the government said.
