Gurugram: Uber driver arrested for masturbating inside cab while dropping student

An Uber driver was arrested for allegedly masturbating while driving a student of Delhi University from Sector 50 to HUDA City centre metro Station.

On Wednesday the accused was produced in a city court where he was granted bail.

The complaint was filed by a Sector 50 resident 19-year-old student of Delhi University.

“It was around 8:30 am on Tuesday when I booked an Uber cab online and soon after a Hyundai i-10 car reached at my location and I boarded it. I found him staring at me from the rear view mirror continuously and I realised he was masturbating. I ignored him then and stepped out at my destination. I got another cab and came back home and confided in my father who took me to the police,” as the student told the police.

As per the complaint, the police flung into action and an FIR has been registered against the cab driver under Section 354-A (sexual harassment) of the IPC at Women police station, sector 51.

The student had the number of cab and also its driver and she shared the same to police.

It was late last night when police nabbed the accused cab driver. The driver was identified as 40-year-old Hisar native Manoj Kumar.

“The accused confessed the same. We have produced him in a city court today which sent him to judicial custody,” said inspector Garima, SHO of Women police station.
