Gurugram ranked first in vaccination drive

Chandigarh, June 15

A survey by the Union Government has ranked Gurugram first among 24 major cities in the country to have vaccinated the maximum of its population. The survey findings show that Gurugram vaccinated 49.3 per cent of its population.

Health Minister Anil Vij said, “Till June 12, 8.51 lakh doses (both doses) were administered in Gurugram. In all, 60,029 healthcare workers and 55,408 frontline workers have received both doses.”

About 4.88 doses (both doses) have been administered to persons who are 45 years and above. The beneficiaries between 18 and 44 years have received 2,47,708 doses.

Indore stood second with 44.9 per cent, Kolkata third (42.7 per cent), Chennai fourth (39.2 per cent) and Vadodara fifth (38.7 per cent). — TNS
