Girl ‘killed’ by jilted lover in Faridabad

A 24-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her jilted lover in a hotel in Faridabad on Sunday evening. Two empty bullet shells were also recovered from the spot. An FIR has been registered against the accused at the Sector 7 police station.

The police said they received a call from Grand Plaza, Sector 7A , around 8 pm on Sunday. A crime team was sent to the spot, which recovered a cellphone and two empty bullet shells from the hotel room. The deceased was identified as Kavita (24), a resident of Pehruka village in Palwal district. She was employed with Kalyani Hospital, Ballabhgarh.

The victim’s father alleged that Pawan, a resident of Nagalia village in Palwal district, had been stalking her daughter for the past couple of days. “Earlier, my daughter had told me that Pawan had been pressurising her to marry him and also threatened to kill her if she rejected his proposal. We warned Pawan, but he did not mend his ways.”

He alleged that his daughter went to duty on Sunday, but did not return home. He has accused Pawan of killing his daughter. On the basis of his statement, Pawan has been booked. He is still at large. — OC
