Faculty development programme

Rohtak: An online faculty development programme (FDP) on the topic 'Life Skills for Blissful Life's commenced today under the aegis of the Centre for Life Skills and Soft Skills (CLAS) of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU). This online FDP is being organised under the AICTE-ATAL FDP scheme. MDU director, CLAS, Professor Ashish Dahiya said 200 participants from 20 different states of India were taking part in this five-day online FDP. MDU Alumnus Rajbir Deswal and Prof. Mohamedunni Alias Mushtafa, director, Centre for Life Skills Education, Central University of Kerala, were the invited speakers in the FDP on Wednesday. Rajbir Deswal in his address emphasised on the importance of having courage to do right things and perform one's duties in life. He also laid emphasis on work, life balance in his address. Prof MA Mushtafa focused on developing life skills, especially honing communication skills. He called for greater empathy with students in his address. Additional director, CLAS, Dr Divya Malhan threw light on the themes of the FDP. Dr Nidhi expressed the vote of thanks.

National webinar by colleges

Yamunanagar: A national webinar was organised jointly by Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, RKSD College, Kaithal, MPN College, Mulana, and SD College, Ambala Cantonment, on the topic 'Sanskrit-tradition and essence of environmental culture in biological sciences'. More than 150 participants of various educational institutions of the country participated in the webinar. Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang, principal of Guru Nanak Khalsa College said in the webinar, Professor Dr Ramakant Angiras, former head of department of Sanskrit, Panjab University, Chandigarh, gave the presidential address and Dr Gagan Mittal, head of the department of RKSD College, Kaithal, gave his views as subject expert. Jain monk of Rajasthan, Dr Padma Muni Ji Maharaj, Lovleen Grover, Dr Vinay Singhal, Dr CK Jha and Dr Rajinder Singh participated in the webinar.

DAV College Principal honoured

Karnal: Dr RP Saini, Principal of DAV PG College, will soon be accredited with honorary D-Litt degree by Dr S. Radhakrishnan Research and Development Centre and the University of Asia for his contribution in the field of education. He was earlier honoured many times by well-known institutions, universities.

Seminar on digitalisation

Yamunanagar: Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri, organised an online seminar on the topic "Digitalisation: The magic wand to succeed in covid time". The seminar was held under the leadership of Dr Seema Gupta, head of the department of commerce. In the seminar, Dr Shamili Jaggi, associate professor, Mittal School of Business of Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, and Dr Narendra Rana, director of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management and Technology, were present as keynote speakers. The programme started by motivational words of the principal of the college, Dr PK Bajpai.

Talk on biomedical science

Mahendragarh: The department of vocational studies and skill development at the Central University of Haryana (CUH) organised a webinar over 'Biomedical science'. Vice-Chancellor Prof RC Kuhad said Dr Chetan Sobti, director, Nichepharm Lifesciences Private Limited, described the evolution of pharma companies in India while Dr PN Pandey, founder, Penam Laboratories Pvt Ltd underlined the opportunities in the pharma sector in the post-independent India. Rajinder K. Harna, former Assistant State Drugs Controller, Food and Drug Administration, Haryana, explained the growth of the pharma industry of India in the pre-independence and post-independence times.
