Karnal, September 29

Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday lauded the Centre over the passage of the three farm Acts and spoke on their benefits.

He said the Acts would allow farmers to sell their produce anywhere in the country at the best prices. Some youths raised slogans against him and showed a placard on ensuring MSP for farmers’ produce.

“The Acts are farmer-friendly and are for the benefit of farmers. They can sell their produce across the country as per their choice,” he said.

He claimed that the Congress was misleading people on the issue. He said contractual farming would benefit farmers.

He said paddy procurement had begun in five districts and would commence elsewhere in the state from October 1. He said every grain would be procured on MSP.

He said cotton would also be procured on MSP. “The government is making efforts for doubling the income of farmers and their produce will be procured on MSP,” he said.

Asked about farmers from other states not being allowed to sell in grain markets of Haryana, he said all farmers would have to get themselves registered on the online portal with Aadhaar number.
