Chandigarh, September 11

"A great man always willing to be a little", is a quote that fits simple and humble Olympian Neeraj Chopra.

The 23-year-old Chopra recently took his parents on their first flight and his joy knew no bounds.

Chopra along with his parents Satish Kumar and Saroj Devi were on their way to an event organised by his promoter JSW Sports at the Inspire Institute of Sports (IIS) in Bellary, Karnataka.

Besides Chopra and his parents, his coach and German biomechanics expert Klaus Bartonietz and Olympian super heavyweight boxer Satish Kumar were also seen seated inside the aircraft.

Why are we making things harder for Neeraj Chopra, the only Indian who can compete with the elite of global athletics? Why the controversy over his remark that his own javelin was with Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem before Chopra’s first throw in the final in Tokyo?

In a latest tweet, Neeraj wrote: "A small dream of mine came true today as I was able to take my parents on their first flight.”

Below are a few messages from his fans for the star Indian athlete.

Chopra became the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in the Olympics after he topped the podium with a throw of 87.6m in Tokyo early last month.
