Kurukshetra, May 9

The district administration has come out with ‘Health assistant: Home isolation care’ initiative to provide free of cost doctor’s consultancy to home-isolated Covid patients through ‘Google Meet’ in the district.

As per information, patients will be able to join the ‘Google Meet’ call and ask their queries directly from the doctors deployed by the district administration.

An official said, “Due to continuous increase in the number of Covid case, patients with mild symptoms are being advised to remain home isolated. But they have been facing difficulty in getting in touch with doctors and seek their advice. The service will be available two hours a day (from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm).”

Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associate Aashima Takkar, who has been monitoring the facility, said, “For the convenience of home-isolated Covid patients we have started the facility and it will be available two hours a day. As per the directions received from Deputy Commissioner Sharandeep Kaur, on Saturday one-day training was organised for the doctors and from Sunday it has been started. On day one, over 30 patients joined us on ‘Google Meet’. Currently two doctors, who had been associated with home-isolation team, have been deployed. In the first few minutes, they tell the patients about the medicines and precautions and then patients start raising their doubts. We are hopeful that we will be able to boost their morale and mental health.”

Sharandeep Kaur said, “After we came to know that the home-isolated were having difficulty in getting in touch with doctors, we have started the Health Assistant facility for the patients through which they can easily communicate with the doctor and get their queries addressed. This will enable better care of the patients. The link is being shared with the home-isolated patients so that they can join and raise their queries. All efforts are being made to provide all help to the Covid patients for which different teams have been deployed and assigned duties in the district.”
