Ambala cops to use drones to identify those participating in farmers’ Delhi march

The Ambala police have decided to use drone cameras to identify people participating in farmers’ Delhi march on February 13, and have issued an advisory cautioning the public not to participate in any protest without permission else action will be taken against them, including cancellation of passports.

Transporters and heavy vehicle owners have been asked not to give vehicles for the agitation else their vehicles will be impounded and the registration cancelled. Action will also be initiated against vehicle owners for disobeying orders. Fuel station owners have also been directed not to fill fuel in cans and drums in view of the farmers’ march, especially if the vehicles are carrying flags of farmer unions.

The police has intensified its preparations to stop the farmers from entering Ambala from Shambhu border, and a team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) today checked the the Ghaggar level near the Ambala-Punjab border.

As per a police press note, four companies, with 107 personnel each, have been formed to control the situation.

SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said, “During the previous agitation, farmers had broken barricades and taken law into their hands, and also caused inconvenience to commuters on the national highway. Regular appeals are being made to the public and farmers not to hold any march or protest without permission else appropriate action will be taken. Notices have been issued and they have been told to get required approvals. All arrangements are being made to maintain the law and order situation. The borders of Haryana and Punjab will be sealed.”
