In a shocking incident at Sanik Colony in Faridabad, a resident died after falling from the stairs of the third floor of a colony after being chased by a German Shepherd today.

Following a complaint by the victim’s family, an FIR was lodged against the dog owner at the Dabua police station.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, Girish Mathur, he lived with his family at the Achievers Colony in the Kalindi hills in the Sainik farms. His son, Sameer Mathur (43), also lived with him with family. It was around 11.30 am that his son was coming down the stairs. As he reached the fourth floor, the dog of a resident, Sanjeev Bhadauria, suddenly charged at him.

“He was scared and ran down and reached the third floor, where he lost his balance and fell from the third floor. He was badly injured and we rushed him to hospital, where he died after some time,” said the father of the victim.

An FIR was lodged against the dog owner under Section 304 (culpable homicide) of the IPC in this regard.
