Gurugram, January 19

Four persons escaped unhurt as they jumped out of their car in the nick of time after it caught fire. The incident took place under the flyover of Rajiv Chowk here today. Two fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flames.

In the morning, the four persons travelling by Creta noticed smoke emitting from the bonnet. They immediately got out and called the police for help. On reaching the spot, the police cordoned off the area and called up the Fire Department. A senior fire officer said the car burst into flames because of short-circuit, but the matter was under investigation. — OC
