BPL patients in home isolation to get Rs 5k aid in Haryana

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij has said that an amount of Rs 5,000 will be given as medical aid to the below poverty line (BPL) Covid patients on home isolation. The amount will be sent directly to their bank account.

Vij said it would be mandatory to have the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) of the beneficiary Covid patients to avail this aid. He said private hospitals would have to upload the information of such patients at https://gmdahrheal.in/.

A helpline number, 8558893911, has been issued for Covid-related assistance in the state. Besides, a helpline number 1075 has been started for the rest of the state, except Gurugram and Faridabad, to disseminate information about coronavirus.

The Health Minister said that under another initiative of the state government, Covid patients of the state who were BPL and were not availing the facility under Ayushman Bharat Yojana would be given subsidy and the amount would be deducted from the bill at the time of the discharge of the patient. He also said that the state government had set an incentive amount of Rs 1,000 per patient per day to a maximum of Rs 7,000 for the patients in private hospitals authorised by the state government for the treatment of Covid, and this amount would be deposited in the bank account of the hospitals when the patient was discharged.

Vij said while state government was working to protect the lives of people, social organisations were also coming forward to play an important role for this cause.
