Ambala, February 7

State Home and Health Minister Anil Vij today directed the SP of Charkhi Dadri to constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to reinvestigate a ‘false’ rape case here.

While listening to public grievances at his residence in Ambala Cantonment today, a complainant told him that a woman had filed a fake rape case against him. He claimed that the woman demanded Rs 20 lakh to settle the matter and police officials were not paying heed to his complaint. Following this, Vij directed the SP to form an SIT.

In another complaint, a Panipat resident alleged that his mother and wife were being falsely implicated in a murder case. The minister then directed the Panipat SP to reinvestigate the case.

Meanwhile, a Kurukshetra resident claimed that he was duped of Rs 53 lakhs by some persons, who had assured him to send his son to the United States of America, but he was rather sent to Dubai and then brought back to India.

The complainant alleged that the accused refused to return his money. Vij then handed over the case to the SIT in charge of investigating cases related to immigration fraud.
