Two days ahead of the Assembly session, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and three MLAs today tested positive for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, India scaled a new peak in Covid testing with more than 26,000 tests per million people, exceeding the WHO advisory of at least 140 tests per million people per day.

“We have now tested 3.59 crore samples for Covid with 6,09,917 tests conducted in the past 24 hours,” said the Ministry of Health as daily infections rose by 61,408 to take the caseload to 31,06,348. — TNS
