Karnal, February 25

The Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC) has started online registration system for patients on Tuesday. The patients can make their appointment with the doctors online at the hospital website — www.kcgmc.edu.in.

Instead of lining up in queues for taking token numbers, they can get their prescription slips from window number 3 at the OPD registration counter by showing an appointment message received on their registered mobile number.

The service was launched by KCGMC Director Dr Jagdish Chander Dureja during a press conference here. A live demo was given to the media persons at the event. Dr Dureja said the service would ease the system and add to patient convenience. “It will save their time and prevent them from hassle in the registration process. With the starting of the facility, our medical college has become first in the state to start it. Presently, the service is being extended at AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER Chandigarh,” he said.

KCGMC Director also announced revision of OPD timings. He said the OPD will now function from 9 am to 3 pm. Presently the OPD hours are from 9 am to 1.30 pm and later from 2.30 pm to 4 pm with a lunch break from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm. This he said will ensure continuous services of doctors as well as paramedical staff.
