7 black marketeers nabbed with 20 vials of Remdesivir in Faridabad

The police have nabbed seven persons for the black marketing of Remdesivir injections.

In all, 20 injections have been recovered from them.

DCP (Crime) Jaiveer Rathi said the accused — Santosh, Lavkush, Omprakash, Tapan, Bhupender, Virender and Pawan — were arrested after a tip-off about them being involved in the black marketing of Remdesivir. He said the accused who had been working in a private hospital used to acquire the injections from there and sell them for

Rs 18,000 to Rs 30,000, depending upon the payment capacity of the customer.

They have been booked under various sections of the Essential Services Act and the National Disaster Management Act and remanded to police custody on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Kurukshetra police on Saturday arrested two black marketeers with a Remdesivir vial. The accused have been identified as Ajay Kumar and Ashish of Kurukshetra. They were produced in a local court today, which sent them to jail. A case has been registered under the Essential Commodity Act and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Section 420, IPC. — TNS
