2 die, 17 hurt as 2 sheds collapse in Gohana

Two persons and a cow were killed, while 17 people sustained injuries after two sheds collapsed at the vegetable market on the Sonepat road in Gohana due to heavy rain and high-velocity winds this evening.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar tweeted about the incident, expressing his condolence over the deaths. He announced Rs 5 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased.

The dead were identified as Jagmender of Devipura and Sandeep of Rabhra village of the district.

JCBs of the civic body, roadways and the PWD were pressed into service immediately after the incident that rescued around 150 persons stuck under the shed, said Deputy Commisioner Sonepat Lalit Sewach.
