Yamunanagar, November 24

A joint team of the CM’s flying squad and the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Yamunanagar, on Sunday seized a utility vehicle laden with 100 bags of fertiliser from Hathni Kund Barrage. The bags were meant to be supplied in Uttar Pradesh.

On the complaint of Quality Control Inspector Bal Mukand, a case was registered against utility vehicle driver Bharat Bhushan and fertiliser dealer Sachin Walia, both natives of Pratap Nagar here, under the Essential Commodities Act and the Fertiliser Control (Movement) Order. Bhushan has been arrested.

Surender Kumar Yadav, Deputy Director (Agriculture), Yamunanagar, said department officers were keeping a vigil in the border area of the district so that no person could smuggle urea in Uttar Pradesh.
