Guv watches ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday visited Government Senior Secondary School, Dargi, of Sunni tehsil in Shimla district and watched the Prime Minister's 'Pariksha pe Charcha' programme on television. The Governor also interacted with students and encouraged them to perform better in examinations.

D’sala lad scores 99.89% in JEE-Mains

Santam Bhattacharya of Aadhunik Public School, Dharamsala, has secured a raw score of 99.89 percentile in the JEE-Mains examination held in January 2020. Principal Anita Verma said he scored 99.93 in physics, 99.91 in mathematics, and 99.28 in chemistry. She said the school was proud of Santam. She said besides Santam, four of his classmates have cleared the exam this year. Meanwhile, nine students of Arihant International School, Nahan, have also cracked the JEE-mains. This year, 22 aspirants had appeared for the exam where Miran Sheikh scored 96.60 and Tushar 92.06. The students credited their success to the teachers and the management of the school and added that the objective and subjective mock tests every month helped them score better.

Allow students improve result: SFI

SFI activists submit a memorandum to HPU Registrar in Shimla.

The Himachal Pradesh University campus unit of the SFI on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Registrar, demanding that the students, who had applied for improvement in graduation, should be given a chance. Campus president Ravinder Chandel said a few days ago, the university had issued a notification to allow students, who had quit graduation midway, to complete the degree but the notification created confusion and a large number of students who wished to improve their marks, had also applied and they should be accommodated.

Cooking contest at Jwali school

An inter-house flameless cooking competition was held at Spring Dale Convent School, Jwali. The objective of the activity was to make students aware of the benefits of healthy food. All students participated with enthusiasm and made nutritious dishes. They told the judges about the ingredients they used and their health benefits.

3-day health camp ends at Tiara DAV

A three-day health camp was organised at DAV Public School, Tiara, Kangra, under the National Child Health Care programme in collaboration with a team of doctors of Public Health Center, Tiara, which concluded on Monday. Principal Shekhar Moudgil said all students underwent a complete health checkup under the campaign. He said during the camp 650 students were checked for height, weight, visual acuity, hearing and other ear ailments and tooth problems. The team of medical officers comprising Dr Ritu Kathuria and Dr Sushant Katoch and pharmacists Meeda and Poonam checked students of Class LKG-V. The students were also informed about common diseases and proper way to brush teeth and wash hands.
