Yamunanagar, January 20

Sports Minister Sandeep Singh said delay in disposal of public grievances would not be tolerated at any cost and action would be taken against officers and officials.

“Our government is serious about quick disposal of grievances. Therefore, delay without any reason will invite stringent action against the officers concerned,” he said.

After chairing the meeting of the District Grievances Redressal Committee at the mini-secretariat here on Thursday, he said he was taking a keen interest in strengthening the ‘khel nurseries’ to promote sports activities in the state.

“I was a player and I know the ground realities of the sports field. Therefore, I am working to promote sports activities in the state,” he said.

As many as 15 complainants came before the District Grievances Redressal Committee. Out of these, eight were disposed of on the spot. The remaining seven would come for further hearing in the next meeting.

The minister also heard the grievances of 20 more persons and asked the officers to resolve their problems on priority.
