Amritsar, January 20

The police have arrested another man allegedly a part of the narco-terror module involved in the smuggling of narcotics and drugs across the India-Pakistan border.

The accused, identified as Sarvodya Rakesh Behri, is a resident of Jammu. He was arrested under Section 120-B of the IPC. The police said Behri’s name figured during the interrogation of Rishabh Kumar, who was arrested on Sunday for allegedly supplying drones to Army man Rahul Chohan.

Police sources say Behri was running a start-up business of selling drones, but did not have the documents that authorised him to sell the equipment. Rishabh had purchased the drones from him.

Behri’s arrest is the seventh in the case. Besides Army naik Chohan, the police have arrested Dharminder Singh, Rishabh, and jail inmates Balkar Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Sarwan Singh.

Drones have become a major headache for security agencies as these are being used for cross-border smuggling of narcotics. — TNS
