Apart from this, under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), augmentation of water supply pipeline project will be discussed. Under the project, approval for 100 per cent water supply in the city has already been given. Tenders were floated by the MC but no bidder was finalised. The project will thus be discussed in detail in the meeting.

The meeting will be attended by Mayor Jagdish Raja, Sr Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor and councillors along with officials of various branches.

In last meeting, issues like replacement of sewer lines and extension of deadline in operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plant in Basti Peer Dad were discussed.

One of the main projects the requirement of tractor trolleys was put on hold. Under the project, for Jalandhar North and West constituencies, there is a requirement of as many as six tractor-trolleys fitted with GPS system while for Jalandhar Central, seven tractor-trolleys are required. The number is six for Jalandhar Cantonment.

Notably, tenders were floated for the same but the proposal has not been finalised as of now. The provision of tractor-trolleys along with labourers is important for cleanliness of the city and solid waste management.

Recently, the Mayor during a meeting with the councilors said they would be responsible for the working of the tractor-trolleys.
