Shah Rukh Khan is Dunki and Rajkumar Hirani his Santa Claus; watch hilarious video to understand it all

With Shah Rukh Khan’s latest social media update, it’s time to put all speculations to rest. It’s confirmed, Shah Rukh Khan is associating with director Rajkumar Hirani for his next. On Tuesday, the King Khan shared a hilarious announcement video. Going by the caption, the film will also star Taapsee Pannu and is scheduled to release in December next year.

Shah Rukh Khan fans have a reason to rejoice. After a long hiatus from the silver screen, in 2022, the actor is on a roll. Recently, he announced YRF’s Pathaan starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, there are also rumours about SRK doing Atlee’s actioner and now, the actor himself has confirmed his next film titled Dunki with director Rajkumar Hirani.

On his social media handles, Shah Rukh Khan shared a funny video. In the video, as he admires the many iconic roles played by Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt in Hirani’s films, the actor asks the director if he has any role for him. Happy to know there is one, SRK then confirms if the film has elements like comedy, emotions and romance. Here Hirani tells SRK that his signature pose won’t be required. The two then reveal the name of the film and Shah Rukh’s reaction to this one is epic.

Along with the video, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, “Dear @RajkumarHirani sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga. actually main toh set par hi rehne lagunga. Feeling humbled & excited to finally work with you. Bringing to you all #Dunki in cinemas on 22nd December 2023.”

In an official statement released by the team, Hirani said, “Through the course of my career Shah Rukh Khan has always been on my wish list and after trying to collaborate several times in the past, we were finally destined to have ‘Dunki’ mark our partnership. The energy, charisma, humour and charm that he brings to a film is unparalleled and I look forward to bringing that magic to the big screen.”

“Raj Kumar Hirani is one of the finest filmmakers of this generation, we have always spoken about working together and I am extremely happy we are finally doing it with ‘Dunki’. We have just started shooting this month and I am cherishing every moment of it. Raju ke liye main Donkey, Monkey…kuch bhi ban sakta hoon,” said Shah Rukh Khan in a statement.
