What is this show Gud Se Meetha Ishq all about?

It’s a story of two girls who are different from each other, but both of them want to establish their own identity, follow their dreams and overcome all sorts of obstacles. There is also a sweet love story involved.

Tell us about your role…

I am playing the character of Kaju, who is a tour guide. The first thing that draws me towards any character is what message it conveys, and this role is very challenging. Kaju has to defy all stereotypes of the male-dominated society and sternly live up to establish her own identity as a tour guide.

What kind of special preparation have you done for your character?

I had to learn nuances of pahari language to deliver the dialogues fluently.

How was it shooting in the beautiful and hilly locations of Uttarakhand?

The first schedule of the show was shot in Uttarakhand near a place called Lakhamandal, which was very beautiful. The shots were usually taken in a temple. It was a very surreal setting amidst the mountains and cool weather.

What similarities do you see between Pankhuri and Kaju?

They both are goal-oriented and follow their dreams.

How is your bond with co-actors Ishaan and Meera?

The bond has been fantastic since day one of knowing them as friends. I am very happy and feel blessed to be around such actors. We enjoyed the chill and local cuisine together.

How do you strike a balance between your married and professional life?

I think it is very simple to maintain a balance, as long your partner is supportive and understanding. Since both of us are actors, we understand each other and our professional lives very well. Also, my husband, Gautam Rode, has always supported me.

What is one quality that helped you become a better artiste during your career?

I believe that my honesty towards work and constant perseverance has helped me become a better artist. Besides, I also feel that constant trying and ‘never give up in life’ attitude will definitely help one become a better artiste.

How are you keeping yourself fit these days?

Since I don’t get enough time for my workout sessions due to my packed schedule, I had to cut short my diet and eventually added more liquids to it. I also included more fruits in my diet and maintained a perfect sleep schedule.
