During the days of steep rise in pandemic again, the millennials are going back to an old practice of staying at home and working. In the second wave of Covid, the trend of online and indoor games was on rise. Keeping the scenario in mind, many software companies are working proactively to bring new stuff in gaming, which would keep people staying at home engaged.

In the course of the trend, there has been a new entry in gaming world. A game Wordle has grabbed the attention of people as it has been circulating on internet for quite some time now.

It is a simple online game which is based upon the concept of guessing a word everyday. The game however, has not clues. In this game a five letter word is to be guessed within six attempts. There is a tile arrangement of words and the tile changes its color after every attempt to hint about the word. The tiles turn grey for letters that are not there in word, yellow for the letters that are there but in the wrong position, and green for the ones that are in right place.

At the end of the day, Wordle awards you a score based on the number of attempts you took to get the correct word. You can further share the score on social media.

The game has an Indian connect as well. It has been created by Josh Wordle, a software engineer from New York, for his Indian origin wife Palak Shah. The game was originally meant to be a fun play but it caught up with the world and went viral.

The game got released in October 2021. Indians, however, have discovered the game recently. Twitter says 96% of Wordle conversations in the country is taking place in January 2022. There has been a 48% daily average growth in Wordle conversations among Indians on Twitter, said a report.

Since the game's public release in October 2021, there have been 840K tweets mentioning the word 'Wordle'.

The game is easily accessible and can directly be played by Google search.
