TV industry has evolved in terms of content. What are your views?

Yes, television has evolved in terms of content, but it still holds the similar ground. There is no drastic change, but yes now we have variety of content.

Initially, it was only love stories and family drama that would do well, but now, there

is an amazing show in every genre, so there is a lot of diversity.

Tell us about your weight loss journey post pregnancy.

I had actually put on 16 kg post-pregnancy and it took me a few months to lose that but it was quick six months. Now, I have lost that 16 kg.

It is no more a taboo for married actresses as well as young mothers to get substantial roles on television. Express your views.

Absolutely, I don’t think any taboo is attached to being a mom. Now, all of us are aging gracefully, so we are getting substantial roles. if you see Anupamaa, the show driver is somebody who is middle aged, and not somebody who is 17 or 18 years old. There is a lot of scope, and good content is happening.

What kind of role would you like to do now?

I want to now pick up something which is very impactful and interesting. I am absolutely okay with cameos, but it should be like a show driver. Negative lead or grey characters interest me the most or it has to be an extreme comedy.

You have become a joint secretary-general of Delphic council of Maharashtra. What is your role in it?

My role as a joint secretary-general is to take care of most of the coordination between the members and the council’s activities, assist and help the board in formulating decisions and policies.

How did they approach you to become a part of it?

As an actor, I’ve also been practising arts. I’ve also done a lot of documentaries and things like that where we’ve spoken about art and culture, so they possibly knew about it and they felt I was the right fit for it.

What is the objective of this council?

The objective of the council is to promote art and culture in Maharashtra.
