How did you feel when you got the lead role in YRKKH?

I was very happy. I felt honoured and privileged because Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is a show that I used to watch with my mom. I never thought that I would work in this show as the lead, playing Akshara, Naira’s daughter and Akshara’s granddaughter.

What was the first day on the set like?

I was very nervous and scared but thanks to my co-actors, who made me feel so comfortable, warm that things got better within half an hour.

Tell us about your character?

Akshara is a very happy person. She is ready to do anything for her family and is even ready to take a bullet for them. Akshara is very lovable and beautiful.

How did you prepare to take this journey forward?

To be honest, I was just being myself. I share a few similarities with Akshara, who is clumsy, silly, choppy, and full of life. Everything is so nice with her; life is beautiful for her. She doesn’t care about destiny and enjoys every moment. I am learning a lot about Akshara every day and trying my best to make her look convincing.

Do you feel any pressure stepping into such a big show?

Yes, I did feel it in the beginning, but thanks to Rajan Shahi sir, Directors Kut Production and everyone on the sets, who helped me cope better. And I also think pressure is good because we can work, give our 100 per cent.

What can we expect from the character and story in the coming times?

There’s a lot more interesting things coming up! I can’t tell you much right now (smiles).

What inspires you?

My directors, co-stars and producers inspire me the most. They are also my support system at work.

Why should we tune into YRKKH?

It’s a good show that has the perfect mix of the right presentation and performance. We’ve come up with a very new story that has many twists and turns, romance, drama, comedy, and everything else. It’s like a mesh of all emotions and people are going to enjoy it hopefully. Fingers crossed.
