‘I will be myself”

Veteran singer Kumar Sanu’s son, Jaan Kumar Sanu, is one of the contestants to enter the house of Bigg Boss 14 on Colors this Saturday. We catch up with Jaan before he enters the house for a quick chat

What will be your strategy inside the Bigg Boss house?

I have no strategy. I will be showcasing my own personality and Ifirmly believe that the audience will like that.

What irritates you?

I am quite a calm person; anger does not come to me easily. I always give a second chance to people and if they still continue to make mistakes then that makes me angry.

What was your father’s reaction when you told him about the show?

Initially he was surprised. Later on I convinced him and told him that I would like to make my own identity without any help and Bigg Boss is a show which can provide me the platform.

How much influence does your father has on your music?

Whenever I have any doubts I always consult him. He is a legend and my aim is to create my own niche in the playback industry.

What kind of tasks will you be comfortable doing in Bigg Boss?

Of course cooking! I am very good at baking. Making varieties of sweets is my specialty. I have been brought up with middle class values so I'm comfortable doing household chores.

Who is your inspiration?

My mother Rita Bhattacharya. She is also a very good singer. I will miss her the most when I will be inside the house.

What was your first recording?

My first recording was for the film Escape From Taliban. I was seven years old. I had sung the song with Sonu Nigam sir. He is one of the reasons I became a singer. I had released an album at the age of eight. It got me into Limca Book of Records as the youngest singer.
