Govinda tests negative for COVID-19

On Wednesday, Mumbai reported 10,428 new coronavirus cases and 23 fresh fatalities

Actor Govinda on Thursday said he has tested negative for COVID-19 and thanked his fans for wishing for his speedy recovery.   

The 57-year-old actor, who had been under home quarantine for almost a week, said he currently has "no clinical symptoms." 

"I have tested negative. We have done the RT-PCR test and the CT Scan as well to be double sure. There are absolutely no clinical symptoms. 

"I thank all my well-wishers for the countless good wishes, blessings and prayers, because of which I was able to defeat the virus sooner. My big thank you to the medical team," the actor said in a statement.

Govinda said as per doctors' suggestions, he would now be taking extreme care and undergoing COVID tests at "regular intervals."

"I request everyone to please take all the necessary precautions," he added.  Govinda  was last seen on the big screen in the 2019 comedy "Rangeela Raja".

On Wednesday, Mumbai reported 10,428 new coronavirus cases and 23 fresh fatalities, which took its caseload to 4,82,760 and death toll to 11,851. — PTI
